The founder and scientific director of ISA RAS (VNIISI).  

A prominent Soviet scientist in the field of automatic control, full member of Academy of Sciences (1984), academician-secretary of the Department of Informatics, Computer Science and Automation of RAS (1992 - 2002). At the present time - Deputy Academician-Secretary of the Department of nanotechnology and information technology. Lenin Prize (1972), the USSR State Prize and State Prize of Russia, prize of the Presidium RAS. Acad. AA Andronov (2000), winner of the Lomonosov Moscow State Prize for Science I degree (2002). He was awarded with "October Revolution", "Friendship of Peoples", "For Service to the Fatherland III and IV degrees", "Cyril and Methodius" (Bulgaria), "Merit (Poland). 

Since 1952, SV Emelianov worked at the Institute of Automation and remote control, where he rose from engineer to deputy director for Science (Deputy Director - from 1967 to 1975.). Since 1976 he has worked at the Institute for System Studies (now the Institute of System Analysis  RAS - ISA RAS). From 1993 to 2003. - Director of ISA RAS, from 1977 to 2002 - General Director of the International Research Institute for Management. Currently SV Emelyanov - supervisor of ISA RAS and IRIM.

SV Emelyanov - founder of the well-known scientific school. He has trained more than 30 doctors and 70 candidates of sciense, among his students - academicians and corresponding members of RAS, members of other academies, the heads of institutions, firms.
