The article analyzes the evolution of the concepts of cyberspace, virtual space, communicative interaction as a “semiotic continuum”. It is shown that the definition of the concepts of “network identity,“ digital personality ”depends, on the one hand, on cognitive ideas about the nature and characteristics of the communicative environment of network interaction, and on the other hand, on the conceptual definitions of the peculiarities of mastering reality by a specific person and reformatting it into a conscious reality.
