Abstract.

Significant drawbacks of the traditional approach to the problem of structure identification of a technical object are marked. A new approach to its research is proposed. The basic content of key notions and representations of the methodology of structure identification is revealed. The system functional reference model of behavior of the subject of structure identification is given. The most important directions of scientific research for the further development of the structure identification methodology foundations are indicated.
