G.A. Smirnov The place of data in the structure of knowledge |

Abstract. The article describes the logical-epistemological procedures that provide structuring of nonconceptualized reality N. With the help of these procedures, N is transformed into a conscious reality R, consisting of rationally comprehensible elements of a special type (R-elements). They exist at the junction of knowledge and being, at the moment of performing acts of perception or recording data. R-elements cannot be fixed individually; they are initially distinguished as elements of an integral structure. As shown in the article, it is the structures consisting of R-elements, and not arrays of unstructured readings of impact sensors that perform the function of primary data in the construction of knowledge systems. R-structures together form a very special, “surface” layer of rational knowledge. The methods of separation of such a layer are demonstrated by the example of the analysis of the structure of scientific collaborations.
