Abstract.

Prioritization of the development of scientific research in healthcare and medicine is aimed at achieving a rational balance that ensures the maximum consideration of public interests. The formulated general principles for the formation of scientific priorities need in a systematic analysis of the established approaches to their determination. The paper studies the methods and criteria used to determinate priorities of medical research in foreign countries. The possibilities and limitations of existing approaches have been identified taking into account their impact on the scientific and technical policy and practice of healthcare.
